Learning Reiki is one of the most practical gifts you can give yourself or your family. Once you have it, you have it for life — a natural, hands-on ability to support healing in yourself and those you love. At Ibuki Healing Arts, we teach Reiki in its original Japanese form: Jikiden Reiki, directly passed down from the founders.

What Is the Shoden Seminar?

Shoden (初傳) is the first level of Jikiden Reiki training. The word means “beginner’s transmission,” and it is the foundation of everything that follows. The seminar is presented over two afternoon sessions, with a balance of lecture, history, and hands-on practice.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of Shoden, you will be able to give a complete Reiki treatment — to yourself, to family members, or to others. You will:

  • Learn the authentic history and lineage of Jikiden Reiki
  • Explore the Gokai — the five guiding principles of Reiki practice
  • Practice essential hand positions for treating physical ailments
  • Develop your sensitivity to byosen — the energetic signals of imbalance
  • Learn a traditional symbol introduced at this level

Who Is It For?

There are no prerequisites. Classes are kept small — 2 to 4 participants — so you receive plenty of individual attention and hands-on time.

Tuition and Scheduling

Shoden tuition is $350 and includes the official textbook, supplemental materials, and certificates in English and Japanese. Seminars are scheduled based on interest.
